Bill Barr, former US attorney general, is willing to testify against Donald Trump in the trial for January 6, 2021

Bill Barr, former attorney general of the United States, said in an interview offered for the CBS program “Face The Nation”, that he would be willing to testify against former President Donald Trump in the case of the attempt to reverse the election results in 2020 and the actions that led to the siege of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Of course,” was Barr’s response when asked if he would agree to be a witness in Trump’s trial.. In addition, the former prosecutor did not respond when asked if he had been interviewed by special prosecutor Jack Smith, who is leading the investigation against the former Republican president.

This week, the former prosecutor also assured that the recent accusations against Trump were only “the tip of the iceberg” and that prosecutor Smith had “a lot” of evidence against Trump.

The government, in its accusation, starts from the position that (Trump) had real knowledge that he had lost the election and that the elections had not been stolen through fraud.. And they’re going to have to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt, which is pretty complicated. This leads me to think that we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg of all this,” the former attorney general told CNN.

Trump was indicted on four federal counts for his actions, which the DOJ said were aimed at discharging legitimate votes in the 2020 presidential race and subverting the election.

These charges were:

1- Conspiracy to defraud the United States: The Department of Justice spokesman indicated that Trump used “dishonesty, fraud and deception to hinder the process of collecting, counting and certifying the results of the presidential elections.”

2- Conspiracy to prevent certification of election results.

3- Conspiracy to impede an official proceeding.

4- Conspiracy against rights of the americans.

According to information from The Hill, Barr has been an outspoken critic of former President Trump since he resigned from his position as attorney general after the 2020 election.
