Billie Eilish recently, perhaps in a matter of a year, has changed, her style has evolved. She has transformed oversize and masculine garments for more feminine and tight-fitting ones. This “drastic” change for some and “excessive” for others has made the 21-year-old singer explode and respond to all criticism.
The singer, fed up with comments from both followers and the media, decided to take a step forward, as a result of being fed up, with a series of stories that she would later delete minutes later.
Despite the fact that Billie’s change in style is more than evident, the string of comments she has had to face are unfortunate, sexist and full of machismo. Some comments to which the Bad Guy has responded with “I’ve spent the first 5 years of my career completely crushed by you guys for being masculine and dressing the way I did and you’ve constantly told me I’d be so much more hot if I behaved like a woman”.
“And now that I feel comfortable enough to dress feminine or tight, you say that I HAVE CHANGED and that I’m a sellout, (…) I can be both,” continues Billie explaining.
“Fun Fact: Did you know that women are multifaceted? Shocking, right? Believe it or not, women can be interested in many things.”
The comments on her latest posts on Instagram are mostly related to her change of style, from those who support her, “Honestly, I really loved her style from before. It was very cool to see a girl with a famous masculine style, but to accuse her of being a sellout for not wearing that style anymore is going too far,” to the one who crushes her, “I thought that I was going to be different and I was not going to be like the rest.”
With all the drama surrounding those judging Billie’s style evolution, a new 2019 campaign for Calvin Klein in which he assured that “I never wanted anyone to know about me. That’s why I wear baggy clothes, (…) no one can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath.”
Taking into account that Eilish rose to fame in 2015 when she was still younger, over the years, her evolution and physical change is reflected in her style, something that should not be judged. Bavo Billie!
