Microsoft is bringing the new Bing with ChatGPT to smartphones or mobile devices. The launch of the new AI-supported preview for Bing and Edge as well as new functions such as voice input has now been announced.

“64 percent of all searches are conducted on mobile phones. That’s why today we’re introducing new Bing and Edge apps for mobile phones. These serve as a co-pilot for users to navigate the web, even when they’re not at their desktop,” announces Microsoft.

Start with restrictions

It’s not a big surprise that the new mobile versions of Bing and Edge are now ready to launch, but delays were expected due to the rush to the new Bing. But now we can start. “In the first few days of testing these mobile experiences, we may experience occasional connectivity issues in low-bandwidth situations,” said Microsoft executive Yusuf Mehdi. “We are aware of the problem and are working on a solution”.

According to Microsoft, the new Bing is now available for iOS and Android as a preview version. It is a version of Bing that builds on features of ChatGPT.

Skype with Bing

All volunteer testers who are already ber have preview access, can now also use the new Bing via the start page of the mobile Edge app. All you have to do is log into Edge with the same account that was already released for the preview. In addition to this announcement, Microsoft announced that Skype is also getting a new chat experience that will benefit from advances in its ongoing AI investments.

As Microsoft explained, ChatGPT will work like a wizard bot once added to a specific Skype group. The preview starts worldwide. Next, the Bing team plans to use it in the Teams app.
