The stock markets of Mexico trade with profit this Wednesday after opening in negative territory. The local stock indices advance for the third consecutive day, in line with the performance of their peers in the US market.

The index S&P/BMV CPI of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), which measures the 35 most liquid shares in the domestic market, rises 0.88% to 49,483.33 units. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Market (Biva), rises 0.93% to 1,033.95 points.

Within the benchmark, most components are operating in positive territory, with 32 stocks in the green and just three in the red. The titles of the mining company Industrias Peñoles, with 4.38%, and Alfa, with 2.32 percent, lead the gains.

Markets will be awaiting the Minutes of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting, which are released later in the day. Investors will be looking for signs on the future of rates in the world’s largest economy.
