Mexico City.- Six days after he was elected the new president of the Mexican Association of Hotels in the Municipality of Comitán, businessman Samuel García Velasco was found dead in the cistern of his home.

According to reports, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Municipal Police received a 911 call reporting a violent robbery at a house located at 2 south west in the Guadalupe neighborhood.

Upon arrival at the scene, the elements discovered the corpse of the businessman in the cistern, for which Civil Protection and agents began the rescue work.

The businessman was originally from the Municipality of La Independencia, on the northern border of the State. He was the owner of the three Lirice Colonial hotels, located in the center of Comitán.

He had recently been elected president of the Mexican Association of Hotels in the latter municipality and had not made any pronouncement because it would be until February when he would assume the position, in the hands of the national leader of hotels.

Lupita Nájera, whom she would replace in office, said that the union “felt outraged” at the fact, because the businessman was a partner, friend and partner.

On December 9, one day after being reported missing, Paola Yasmín Ocampo Alcázar, mayor of a primary school, was also found dead in the cistern of the “David Gómez” primary school in the Municipality of Tuxtla Gutiérrez.

His body was found by school personnel while students were taking classes.
