On Saturday (6), Lula had already commented on the return of the program. According to him, the relaunch completes the package of social programs, considered a reference in past administrations and will be resumed by the federal government.

“We are resuming, putting into operation, all the public policies that worked in our governments”, he said. For the president, the sanction of the bill – which includes the National Oral Health Policy in the Organic Health Law – will guarantee “universal, equitable and continuous access”.

Brasil Sorridente was created in 2004, during Lula’s first term as President of the Republic. Data from the Ministry of Health indicate that, in ten years, more than 80 million people were assisted by the program, receiving various types of dental care.
