The agreement between the federal and state governments on the start date is currently still subject to the approval of the EU Commission.

However, scientists and AI experts in Germany warn of data protection and data security gaps, hate speech and false news. The founder of the research laboratory “Leap in Time Lab” and business administration professor at the TU Darmstadt, Ruth Stock-Homburg, has made thousands of requests to the system with students to find weak points. The result: In addition to anti-Semitic and racist statements, sources are simply wrong or go nowhere. The software is based on data from 2021. Chancellor Olaf Scholz is still Finance Minister and the war in Ukraine is unknown. For Stock-Homburg, ChatGPT is currently still a gimmick for private use and nothing for business and security-related areas.

Bavaria wants to ban disposable e-cigarettes
Bavaria’s Health Minister Klaus Holetschek is campaigning for a ban on disposable e-cigarettes. They are filled with a non-refillable flavored liquid and have a non-rechargeable battery. After full use, they are therefore officially electronic waste, but often end up in the residual waste. This in turn leads to the loss of raw materials and the risk of fires. The Free State has therefore decided on a Federal Council initiative, with which the Federal Government is to be asked to campaign for a ban on the sale of disposable e-cigarettes at EU level.
Starlink antennas disrupt weather forecast
The growing number of Starlink antennas is interfering with weather satellites. At least that’s what a Dutch meteorologist says and warns of worse forecasts, because the natural radiation from water vapor looks almost exactly the same to weather satellites as the radio signal from a Starlink antenna. More Starlink dishes in areas where there are no classic Internet connections would then result in less accurate weather forecasts.
