EU promotes climate-neutral cement plant
By 2029, the cement plant in Lägerdorf in Schleswig-Holstein is set to become the first in the world to be climate-neutral. The EU is funding this with 109 million euros and the operator Holcim is also investing a three-digit million amount. With a new furnace technology, the company wants to use pure oxygen instead of ambient air in the future. This is said to come from electrolysis projects by other companies that want to split water into hydrogen and oxygen using green electricity. Holcim wants to capture the pure CO₂ that is generated during cement production. It is then to be processed into methanol or processed as a raw material for the chemical industry, for example for the production of plastics.

Sensor in HomePod mini is shared
The second-generation Apple HomePod, which was surprisingly presented on Wednesday, also comes with an integrated sensor for the indoor climate for the first time, in addition to other improvements. Prime Music Unlimited is getting more expensive
Amazon is raising prices on its Prime Music Unlimited music streaming service. Customers will be informed about the forthcoming price increases by e-mail. The reason for the higher subscription prices are increased costs. For example, the licensing costs for Prime Music content have increased by 10.6 percent per customer. The expenses for personnel and technical infrastructure are also almost 17 euros higher per customer than in 2019.
