Chicago (USA), Apr 8 (EFE).- Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, put his signature this Saturday with a final shot in the 90-84 victory of ‘Team USA’ against Team ‘World’ at the Nike Hoop Summit, an annual match held in Portland, Oregon, pitting a team of America’s best players under the age of 19 against some of the best talent from the rest of the world.

In this edition, after more than twenty years of history, the women’s category duel also premiered, with the same format. The American team won by 100-79 and 22 points from Mikaylah Williams.

Portland hosted a new edition of an event in which young talents who would write the history of basketball in the NBA competed. Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic and Derrick Rose ended up being American League MVPs.

But Joel Embiid, Tony Parker, DeMar DeRozan, Jayson Tatum or Anthony Davis, among many others, also passed through the Portland track.

This Saturday, with LeBron James sitting in the front row to watch the game, Team USA achieved a hard-fought victory against the world team, in which the presence of Andrey Stojakovic, son of Peja Stojakovic, among others, stood out.

Bronny scored eleven points and grabbed four rebounds. But he above all he managed a tremendous block in the last seconds and regained possession to end the hopes of a comeback for the world team.

He himself was in charge of sentencing the match from the free throw line.

The leading scorer for ‘Team USA’ was Ron Holland, with fifteen points in a group of six players over ten points.

In the world team, the best was Mackenzie Mgbako, with 22 points, while Stojakovic signed twelve points, with two triples.

In the ‘Team World’ there were also talents such as the Senegalese Baye Fall or the Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher, among others.
