According to the statistics of the Secretary of State Public Security (SSPE), last month 234 infractions were applied against “bullies” that monopolize preferential spaces, while throughout the year there were 705 fines, a figure that exceeds the totals of 2021 and 2020.

The State Highway Law establishes a fine equivalent to the daily value of 20 to 50 Measurement and Update Units (UMA), that is, from 2 thousand 74 pesos to 5 thousand 185 pesos, for those who improperly occupy preferential parking spaces, or, they obstruct the ramps or accesses for people with disabilities, or hinder the free movement according to the sixth article.

This would represent a minimum collection of 485 thousand 316 and a maximum of one million 213 thousand 290 pesos for the 234 infractions applied in March, and up to 3 million 655 thousand 425 pesos throughout the year, based on the highest amount of fines.

In the current state administration, the number of infractions for misusing the blue drawers have increased, since in 2020 and 2021, the fines raised per month were 46 and 60 respectively, that is, an average of 1.5 and 1.7 daily violations.

As of 2022, there was a considerable increase, since an annual total of 3,036 fines was reached, which represents an average of 253 per month and 8.4 daily infractions.

In what corresponds to this year, in January 246 fines were applied, in February 225 and 234 last month, for a monthly average of 235. The sanctions have been lifted both in the blue places that are on the roads, as well as in business parking lots.
