The man who held the position of Secretary of Sports of Campo Ramón, Marcelo Roberto Goncalvez (52), submitted his resignation after being denounced for wounding a dog with a bullet that was walking next to a child in the middle of the public thoroughfare of the town.
According to what was reported by the Police, the attack occurred yesterday morning on César Cardozo street, which generated an immediate reaction from the community and the Justice, which ordered a search of the suspect’s property with the aim of seizing the weapon used although the result was negative.
The same commune, in its official Facebook account, confirmed the resignation apparently demanded by the mayor himself, José Luis Márquez Da Silva. “After the facts of public knowledge, currently in judicial process, the mayor José Luis Márquez Da Silva, requested the immediate resignation of Mr. Marcelo R. Goncalves from the position of Secretary of Sports of the Municipality,” he informed.
The publication, which attaches a copy of the resignation signed by the defendant, states that “it has been received on the day of the date and forwarded to the corresponding department”, and insists: “We advocate the prompt clarification of the case, acting in everything that concerns this administration”.
“Some guilt is presumed”
It can be read in a part of the resignation letter signed by Goncalvez that “this is motivated by a fact that is under judicial investigation, remaining at the disposal of justice, where some guilt is presumed.”
In a comment made below, the defendant, who is president of the River Plate sports club in Villa Bonita, clarified that “dFrom the first day I was appointed, my resignation was at the disposal of the mayor and now so that they do not say that I am behind the official suit, I want the Justice to investigate everything, because I am a common citizen.
Although the reasons why the now ex-official fired the shot that wounded the dog in the lower back, nor the caliber of the weapon used, are not clear, according to information from the II Regional Police Unit “the defendant would have shot with an air rifle.
They detailed that the complaint was made “by a neighbor of the municipality”, because the suspect “had fired a shot at a dog that was on the public road in the company of a 12-year-old boy, causing a spinal injury , for which he had to transfer the little animal to a veterinarian, where it was kept under observation.”
“The Investigating Court in turn was informed, who ordered that the corresponding judicial summary be investigated and that the investigation of the case be notified to the accused author,” they pointed out. The projectile was lodged in the lower back of the dog, which is still in delicate condition and the veterinary report would indicate that the wound would not be compatible with compressed air.
