MEXICO CITY (proceso.com.mx).- Morena’s presidential candidates will not give any interviews to media that they consider “reactionary, conservative and adversaries” of the 4T. The measure was taken this Sunday, as part of the requirements that must be followed, in order to compete in the internal process and thus choose the candidate for the 2024 election.
The order is given in tune with the affront that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has with the media, whom he has branded since the beginning of his six-year term as “fifi press.”
This is the first time that during an internal process to elect a candidate for the Presidency, relations with the press are explicitly prohibited.
“They will avoid the reactionary, conservative media, opponents of the Fourth Transformation and supporters of the old regime.”
The president of the National Council of Morena, Alfonso Durazo and the president of the National Executive Committee of Morena, Mario Delgado, announced that the agreement that defines the work route towards 2024 and within the points that must be followed was unanimously approved , appears to avoid the media.
With this order, after their resignation from the positions they hold, Adán Augusto López, Claudia Sheinbaum, Marcelo Ebrard, Ricardo Monreal, Manuel Velasco and Gerardo Fernández Noroña will not give any interview to the media.
