CDMX.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador accused that the drug cartels give gifts to the population because they want to use it as a shield.

After alleged members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) gave away toys in downtown Guadalajara, the President indicated that the people should not be allowed to be manipulated.

“They do not want Guardia headquarters to be installed and they use the people, I take this opportunity to say so, so that people do not allow themselves to be manipulated, that is not good, even if they are given pantries, that is not in good faith, that is to use shield the people, manipulate the people and that should not be allowed,” López Obrador said.

The Federal Chief Executive indicated that the cartels do not want National Guard barracks to be established in Jalisco, Chihuahua and Michoacán.

“It also happens that they do not want the National Guard barracks to be set up, we now have this in Jalisco, where there are apparently spontaneous demonstrations that do not want the National Guard, it happened to us in Chihuahua, we still have something of this in Michoacán,” he said. .

The President was asked if the capture of Nemesio Oseguera “El Mencho”, leader of the CJNG, is close, and he replied that he has no information.

“I have no information on this,” he said.
