For years, Cathy, 35, and Mats Hummels, 34, did not show the face of their son Ludwig, 5, on their Instagram accounts. Either the Hummels offspring was only photographed from behind or it was made unrecognizable with the help of emojis. That changed in the summer of 2022: Cathy’s followers were able to clearly see her child’s face on her account more and more often and watch him grow up. But that should now be over, as Ludwig himself has decided.

In a posting from October 4, 2023, the influencer shared several photos that show her with her little boy at the Oktoberfest. What’s striking is that Ludwig is hiding behind his mom’s dirndl in the first three pictures and can only be seen from behind in the last selfie. Mama Cathy explains the little game of hide-and-seek: “Oh yes: Ludwig may no longer be clearly visible when it comes to my and dad’s Instagram channel in the future (sic).” The reason for this is pretty simple: the five-year-old simply doesn’t feel like having to constantly pose for photos, as is part of everyday life for his famous parents. “His decision, which is of course respected,” emphasizes Cathy.
The Hummels offspring’s decision spread widely just a few hours after it was posted. Cathy’s followers think Ludwig’s announcement is great and are also happy that his parents respect and implement it. “Ludi, I think it’s so great. I especially don’t like the fact that you say it clearly (sic)” and “He’s right” it says in the comments.
Ludwig Hummels still likes to accompany mom Cathy to work
Just took it a few weeks ago Cathy Hummels took part in an event on the occasion of World Children’s Day in Hamburg. Curious at her side: Ludwig. “He likes to accompany me to work,” the entrepreneur revealed in a GALA interview at the time. Win-win for Cathy herself. She is happy when she can have her son around her at events. “He should see what his parents are doing,” she beamed into the camera.
