If you are a lover of retro video games and in particular a fan of Atari, then be prepared to spend $1,000 to declare your love. No, no new console coming, but more of a very special package, intended for those who have carried the company in their hearts, perhaps while discovering the world of video games for the first time.

For the “modest” sum of 1,000 Dollars (actually $999.99) you can take home a box containing 10 physical games for the Atari 2600, everyone revisit (at the packaging level) in a modern key. The box is made up of those ten games sold separately until recently, at a cost of $99.99. Clearly, like any self-respecting collector’s item, the entire box is limited edition: only 100 units will be produced and the feeling is that some of these will end up in the hands of scalpers, who will get ready to resell them as soon as possible on eBay or Amazon.

The list of ten games is certainly unforgettable. Inside we find Asteroids, Gravitar, Crystal Castles and many others. Each game contains a collectible pin, a patch and a customized stand. The cartridge, as we said above, is perfectly compatible with the original hardware and once inserted inside it will begin to light up. You can take a look at the contents of the boxes thanks to the photo just below.

Clearly this is a package intended for collectors and which serves to celebrate the 50 years of activity on the company market. However, if you are a retrogaming lover but are not willing to spend a similar amount for this box, then the advice is to turn to a collection for existing consoles, such as the Atari 50, released last November and acclaimed by the public and critics. You can retrieve your copy (if you haven’t already) at Amazon. Keep following GameDivision for all the news and upcoming announcements from the world of video games.
