On April 15th and 16th, the KSV women Celina Denz, Elena Gassner and Sabrina Berchtold – all U20, as well as Lena Salzgeber and Nika Ofenbeck (U17) were allowed to represent Austria’s colors for the first time.

The 30th FlatzAustriaOpen tournament with 170 participants from 15 nations enjoys a high reputation internationally.

Celina Denz and Nika Ofenbeck were crowned tournament winners in their age and weight classes.

Celina won all her fights on shoulder with a total point advantage of 18:4 over two Hungarians and the final victory over a competitor from Germany. Nika’s victory was less sweaty. Surprisingly, there was no opponent in her weight class.

Elena Gassner was unable to continue her winning streak, achieved in national competitions in recent weeks. With one win and two losses, she finished fourth against strong competition, ahead of her club colleague Sabrina Berchtold.

Lena Salzgeber won the first fight against a British opponent with 5:0 points, but lost the following three fights relatively clearly.

Our ladies were looked after by their home trainer Oleksandra Kogut, who is also the national trainer.
