Malo Gusto joins Chelsea FC. As ‘RMC’ and ‘L’Équipe’ reported almost at the same time, the 19-year-old right-back is moving to the Blues – but not until summer. Until then, he will be loaned back to Olympique Lyon.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there will be a transfer fee of 30 million euros plus bonuses. A good deal for OL, since Gusto’s contract expires in 2024. The French will receive a handsome sum and keep their homegrown talent until the end of the season, as always.
Chelsea have been working on Gusto for almost the whole of January and are now successful, but Gusto is unable to step in for the injured right-back Reece James (23) at short notice. He could then take over the legacy of the eternal right-back César Azpilicueta (33) in the summer.
