Around 1100 fools as foot groups took part in the big children’s carnival

Almost 30 groups met on Shrove Monday afternoon in the heart of the market town of Schruns to take part in the big children’s carnival parade. Above all, numerous kindergartens and elementary schools had spent months tinkering and painting on their costumes in order to be well prepared for the big children’s carnival parade. With a cloudless sky and wonderfully warm spring temperatures, the groups all lined up at the middle school in Schruns-Dorf from 2 p.m. Each group received a number board.

To loosen things up in between, those responsible – the Soko Schruns – had repeatedly mixed Gugga music or Harmoniemusic, creating a colorful cloud of sound while the small and large fools strolled past the numerous spectators. The colorful train first moved along Bahnhofstrasse to Schuhhaus Sander, then in the direction of the roundabout, before the colorful convoy returned through the pedestrian zone in Gässle to Kirchplatz. The children in particular had bought lots of sweets for the day, which the crowd was happy to distribute. In addition to 101 cute Dalmatians, colorful clowns from Bartholomäberg, shimmering silver beaks, glittering gold magicians and energetic construction workers also came together on this day.

There was also a circus with all its sights, chattering penguins, ivy-covered forest witches or clever little foxes to admire. The special thing about the children’s carnival in Schruns is that only foot groups consisting of children and accompanying persons take part. The conclusion then took place for everyone on the Schrunser church square.
