The Argentine director before the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Sergio Chodos, called three economists from the “previous government” “unpatriotic” because they would have asked officials from the multilateral organization not to provide assistance to Argentina until a new government takes office.
In dialogue with the Argentine News Agency, Chodos described the situation as “sad” and targeted three economists, all former government officials, who spoke with IMF members.”to ask that they not give Argentina a front load (advances) or disbursements, under the argument that if they wait, they will negotiate a new program with them”.

The official stated that “it is sad and unpatriotic also considering that the entire framework of relations with the IMF came to be discussed in the face of society, having passed through congress, and not closed behind the back of the people and against their interests”.
Finally, Chodos recalled that there were “internal irregularities” when the agreement was signed “behind the backs of Congress and society” during the administration of Mauricio Macri.
