Tolga Cigerci looks back on turbulent days surrounding his return to Hertha BSC. “Actually, the change happened very quickly”the midfielder told club media, “On Sunday evening, my advisor briefly informed me that something could happen with Hertha. So I said: I’m open and ready for that. On Monday things got more serious, the talks with Benjamin Weber and Zecke were good. I didn’t have to think long because I had a good past here.”
Cigerci, who played 41 times for Hertha from 2013 to 2016, should take on responsibility immediately as an experienced player. “One thing I can promise the fans, the club, the coach and my teammates”announces the 30-year-old, “I will always give everything to perform and to help my team.” On yesterday’s Deadline Day he signed a contract with the old lady until the summer of 2024.
