Velbert.
The roof has burned out, chemicals are stored inside: the fire brigade is on duty in Velbert to extinguish the fire in a company building.

City alarm and Sirekne were triggered in Velbert. The reason: a major fire at an electroplating shop on Bessemer Strasse. The fire brigade is on site with 80 forces to get the flames under control. “The roof has already burned through,” says Marcel Borowski, spokesman for the Velbert fire department. “Our particular difficulty is that several chemicals were stored in the building.” An ABC train from Ratingen is already on site.

Due to the massive development of smoke, Borowski advises residents to keep all windows and doors closed and to drive around the area around Bessemer Strasse. The operation will probably last several hours, according to his estimate at 8:15 p.m. (vek)
