Ombudsman condemns attacks on the press during protests
Ombudsman condemned the attacks on journalists during the coverage of the protests. “We demand that the authorities identify and punish all those who attack women and men of the press. It is urgent to provide them with protection so that they can fulfill their functions,” the organization said.

Pronouncement of the Ombudsman

Four alternate routes to the Central Highway
The Superintendency of Land Transport of People, Cargo and Goods (Sutran) reported that the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through Provías Nacional, shared the following alternative routes due to the blockade of the Central Road:
First alternate route
Huaura Highway (Pasamayo bypass) Sayán – Churín – Oyón – Ambo – Cerro de Pasco – Tingo María Emp. PE-3N (282,663 km). Vehicles allowed: semi-trailer trucks with up to 5 axles.
Second alternate route
Emp. PE-1S (Pasamayo Diversion) Huaral – Acos – Huayllay – Dv. de Cochamarca – Emp.PE-3N (Length. approx. 176.1 km). Vehicles allowed: trucks with up to 3 axles and buses with up to 3 axles (includes double-decker buses at moderate speed).
Third alternate route
Lima – Sing – Huayllay Dv. Cochamarca – Emp. 3N (Length. 206,178 km). Vehicles allowed: trucks with up to 3 axles and buses with up to 3 axles (except buses with 2 floors).
Fourth alternate route
Cañete – Lunahuaná – Zuñiga Highway – Yauyos – Ronchas – Chupaca – Pilcomayo (Huancayo) – Detour – (330.84 km). Vehicles allowed: trucks with up to 2 axles and buses with up to 2 axles (except buses with 2 floors).
Central Highway is still blocked
The Central Road continues blocked. They have recommended postponing trips.

marches from southern regions
Various delegations from South Lima and regions plan to gather from 8 am at the Fishing Terminal from Villa Maria del Triunfo. The march would head towards the center of Lima, as has happened in recent days from Puente Piedra and Comas.

Congress rejected early elections
With 45 votes in favor, 65 against and 2 abstentions, the Plenary of Congress did not approve the substitute text of bills 1897, 1918, and others, which propose establishing the general election process for October 2023.
After the vote, the president of Parliament, José Williams, suspended the session to see the reconsideration of the vote on the substitute text for Monday at 10:00 am.
Preventive prison
