The public passenger transport companies of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) resumed service after the strike arranged between 9:00 p.m. on Monday and 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, but they warned that tomorrow there could be a new measure of force. The lines affected are those of national jurisdiction (from 1 to 199).

The business entities denounced through a statement a “considerable delay verified in the accreditation of the funds of the tariff compensations corresponding to the higher costs incurred during the current year and the lack of compliance by the State with its commitment to update the determination of costs at March values, with prices and indicators that are objective and effectively representative of the economic reality of the market”.

“As of the date -they continued- funds corresponding to the first quarter of the current year are pending accreditation, for a total value equivalent to almost the total compensation for a full month, even considering that the pertinent calculations do not sufficiently cover the actual costs of the activity.

The companies then anticipated that “in order to make benefits compatible with available economic resources, many companies will be forced as of today (Tuesday 17) not to provide night services and reduce frequencies during the day.” And they announced that there will be a total suspension of the service between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. this Wednesday, April 19.

In parallel, the measures of force continue in the subway, which several times a week paralyzes the service in demand of two francs a week and the reduction of the weekly working day. Yesterday, for example, they suspended the service from 10 p.m. until closing.
