All the police unions will participate with their respective trade union center in the united demonstration planned for Thursday in Paris to oppose the pension reform, AFP learned this Friday, January 13 from each of them.

The majority union bloc (13 unions of police officers and technical, scientific and administrative personnel) led by Alliance-CFE-CGC and Unsa police called for participation in Thursday’s demonstration, with the slogan: “We are not touching the special status of the police”. SGP police-FO unit, which called for the same, boycotted an information meeting with the administration of the Ministry of the Interior on Friday morning on the pension reform.

Pension reform: seniors still pushed out
Police officers do not benefit from a special regime but, considered as “active categories”they are entitled to an early departure due to “their risk exposure”. This right is retained but, with the reform, police officers will only be able to exercise their right to retirement at age 54 or 59 depending on the profession exercised, compared to 52 and 57 currently.
