Colombian fashion takes over the streets of Wynwood

MIAMI.- As part of the internationalization of the manufacturing industry moda Colombian, the streets of Miami’s art district, Wynwood, will be transformed into an open-air walkway for the development of Colombia on Wynwoods Runway, a performance that seeks to promote the brands of the New Granada country.

The event is part of the promotional campaign in the United States of Colombiamoda, the official name of Colombian Fashion Week, and will take place on Saturday, June 1, in a space where attendees will also be able to enjoy the music, art and tourism.

Wanitta, a multi-brand store that brings together Colombian entrepreneurs and seeks to promote the ethnic tradition of the South American country, is the main promoter of this parade and will present 10 established and emerging designers.

Camilo Agudelo, co-founder of Wanitta and organizer of the event, confirmed that the parade is expected to welcome at least 300 attendees.

“The production contemplates a walkway that will be located on two of the most important streets in Wynwood that surround the Wanitta store. These streets will receive about 300 guests, and there will be other open-air spaces so that Wynwood’s organic traffic can also enjoy it. The background of the catwalk will be the mural of more than 40 meters that the artist Alejandro Paucar intervened inspired by Average, where 10 models will be presented, more than 40 outings, which will show the world the great talent we have in our city and country,” he explained in a statement.

Colombia on Wynwoods Runway not only has the support of Wanitta, which opened its store in the district six months ago; It is also promoted by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, an entity that signed an alliance with the Colombian Institute for Exports and Fashion, Inexmoda, to position brands and make national talent visible.

The organizers assert that this proposal will highlight the way in which fashion has become a tool that drives Medellín, not only as a city with tourist attraction but also as the cradle of creativity and great talents in the country.
