After registering tens of thousands of players, the blockchain game studio Cometh has just entered into a major partnership. Its title Cometh Battle became the first blockchain game on the crypto Wallet Ledger Live app.

Cometh Battle: the first game on Waller Ledger

Launched by the eponymous studio, Cometh Battle is a free-to-play tactical card game based on blockchain technology. Where the game stands out significantly from the mass of web3 games is that it has just concluded an unprecedented collaboration with the French giant: Ledger.

Indeed, since January 11, the game has become the first of its kind to be available directly on the Ledger Live application, the famous virtual interface for crypto wallet. By collaborating, the two French companies, Cometh and Ledger, have brought together the experience of web3 players in a single digital place.

Thus, Cometh Battle players can play and manage their virtual items in NFT directly on the Ledger Live application – a clever initiative that contrasts with the sometimes difficult accessibility of certain blockchain-based games. In addition, this addition to Ledger Live offers much more security for players.

“We are fortunate to be at the forefront of innovation in the Web3 gaming industry and our team is dedicated to creating a unique experience that consistently showcases the potential of blockchain technology. Additionally, the many hacks are often a limitation for new users ready to join Web3, explains Jérôme de Tychey, founder and CEO of Cometh.

What is Cometh Battle?

First of all, it’s important to remember that Cometh Battle is not new to the Web3 gaming scene. Launched in May 2022 in open beta, the game has managed to make a name for itself by attracting nearly 20,000 players who have fought in more than 600,000 games.

The gameplay of Cometh Battle takes place in a galactic universe in pixel art where players can compete in 1 on 1 card duels and try to win tournaments with prize pools.

The difference with a Hearthstone or a Yu-gi-oh Master Duel is that some cards and other cosmetics belong to you since they are NFTs. As a reminder, an NFT is a digital property certificate in the form of a token associated with a digital collection object. Thus, thanks to the blockchain, holders are the sole and exclusive owners of their tokens.

The objective of Cometh Battle is to use this blockchain technology to put players’ ownership of their recorded in-game winnings back in the center. In this sense, players can exchange, transfer or store their cards in NFT on their wallet, and even outside the game.

In addition to NFT cards, the game has several play-to-earn mechanisms, including a ship rental service and a card creation system.

If you want to be part of the adventure, know that on the occasion of the launch on Ledger Live, Cometh Battle offers an exclusive Welcome Pack for 3.99 USD Coin (3.67 euros). This famous special pack contains:

  • 4 booster packs each including 5 NFT playing cards that can be collected or traded in Cometh Battle
  • 5000 Galactic Credits needed to purchase playable cards (non-NFT) or animated emojis in NFT.

Note, however, that the game remains accessible in free-to-play and that you can easily progress in the game without paying a euro and without Wallet Ledger. The standard spaceship and the free 40-card deck allow you to complete the game’s daily quests and thus earn galactic credits. This in-game currency can be spent on playable cards (non-NFT) and cosmetics (in NFT).
