Denon has introduced a new AV receiver. The AVC-A1H is described as the new flagship, which is to follow in the footsteps of the AVP-A1 (1996) and the AVC-A1HD (2007).

The Denon AVC-A1H weighs a whopping 32 kilograms. The transformer alone makes up almost a third of the total weight. Inside there is power for 15 amplifier channels, each with 210 watts of power. This can be used to control configurations up to 9.4.6, which is intended to delight home cinema enthusiasts in particular.

8K passthrough and also 8K upscaling of 4K or HD content is supported. Inside the AVR is a dual-core DSP with 1 GHz. All 3D audio formats your heart desires are supported. Among them: Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced as well as Auro 3D and 360 Reality Audio.

The total of 10 HDMI ports are divided into seven inputs and three outputs. Those are packed with the full HDMI 2.1 program: ARC/eARC, HDCP 2.3, VRR, QFT, ALLM and Co are part of the party. Of course, dynamic HDR formats are also supported with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Support for the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction software is also included ex works, optionally with Dirac Live via an upgrade.

In addition to Bluetooth, there is also a playback option via Apple AirPlay. Also included is HEOS, which enables networking with other wireless Denon products. Cost of the piece of jewellery? A whopping 6,999 euros – no, there is no comma missing.
