just as anticipated iProfessionl, the Argentine Federation of Commerce and Services Employees (FAECyS) agreed with the representatives of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME), the Union of Argentine Commercial Entities (UDECA) a quarterly salary increase of paritaria 2023-2024 of 19.5 percent, in three installments: April, May and June, bringing the basic to about 220,000 pesos. To this must be added a non-remunerative bonus of 25,000 payable in two tranches.

The agreement applies to collective labor agreement 130/75 of general branch, taking as calculation base the values ​​expressed for last April, with all the increases opportunely agreed. In addition, it was established that the increase will be paid at its nominal value and in three non-cumulative tranches:

  • 6.5 percent in April
  • 6.5 percent in May
  • 6.5 percent in June

The union and employers agreed to resume wage negotiations in July to analyze the progress of inflation and its impact on wages. The general secretary of the union, Armando Cavalieriexplained that “the economic situation and the constant rise in prices inevitably led us to discuss a short parity, which allows us to defend the purchasing power of mercantile workers.”

The closing of the negotiation was attended by the Minister of Labor, Raquel “Kelly” Olmos, which was valued by Cavalieri, as well as “the understanding of the business sector, demonstrating the value of dialogue in a context of great difficulty”, adding that “we hope to continue on this path, in which both the Government and the union and the entrepreneurs commit to generating agreements that benefit everyone”.

What happens with the non-remunerative fixed sum

Refering to non-remunerative fixed sum of 25,000 pesos, will be for the only time, of an exceptional nature and will be paid in two installments of 12,500 pesos each. They will be settled as follows

  • 1st installment $12,500 in April
  • 2nd installment $12,500 in May

In addition to these categories are those of driver and driver’s assistant, additional for window assembly and special regimes. The seniority is 1% per year worked and must be applied to the new remuneration figures. Regarding presenteeism, the remuneration figures must be increased with the complementary allowance established by article 40 of the collective bargaining agreement 130/75.

On the other hand, it was also agreed to update the exceptional and extraordinary employer’s solidarity contribution, agreed in the tenth clause of the agreement of April 21, 2022, raising the originally agreed sum of 600 pesos by 600 pesos, to bring it to 1,200 pesos. In addition, the contribution to THE FEEL of 100 pesos that must be made by the workers affiliated with that social work.
