During Sunday’s duel, it was Torpet celebrity winner Erik Sæter (26) and celebrity chef Trond Moi (53) who were due to compete.

As a second champion, Moi chose ax throwing as a dueling discipline. He wanted a fair fight, and therefore chose a branch that was unknown to him.

The match ended in victory for the chef, when he hit the target, among other things. He finished with a total of nine points, while Sæter had to settle for one.

Now Sæter comes out hard against Moi and claims he lied about the election.

Claims he had practiced

In the Farm celebrity episode, Moi says that he has never practiced the branch before. Säter, on the other hand, believes this is not true.

– This sucked, but it turns out that he has obviously bought an ax in January which he has been practicing with, said Sæter when TV 2 met him shortly after the duel.

– Trond wasn’t sure if he was good at ax throwing. He’s been practicing for half a year, and then he just pretended he couldn’t, he claimed.

Säter shares more about this on Instagram’s story function, after Sunday’s broadcast. There he believes that Moi has lied about the election. When TV 2 contacted him today, Sæter still stood by this.

– Exactly that part I admire, that he has practiced a lot and become skilled – I also admire that he lies about it, because it is well played, says Sæter today.

Dropping the charges

When TV 2 makes contact with Moi, he understands that some may think he has lied. However, he downplays the accusations that Sæter has made.

– I have not lied once during my stay, says Moi to TV 2.

Moi says that he joined the reality show three days before departure. In advance, he therefore had the opportunity to practice with a splitting ax for just 20 minutes. Inside the farm, he practiced with Jan Tore Kjær (54) in the forest, with the same type of axe. The ax used during the duel is different from this one.

– When I stood there, it was the first time I held such an axe. They are much heavier, and they have a different tip. Using them requires a slightly different technique.

He had practiced throwing straight forward, but according to him the rest of the technique is different. He therefore explains that he had not practiced ax throwing before, as is the discipline in the duel.

– The axes used during the Farmen duels are a throwing axe. This is an ax with completely different properties and characteristics than an ax you chop wood with. A splitting ax has a wedge that makes it easier to split logs, while a throwing ax has eggs on both sides and is designed to rotate in the air when thrown. The latter is not suitable for much other than throwing, says press manager at TV 2, Jan-Petter Dahl.

– Lyving is completely out of the question

Moi says that he went in with a tactic of playing honestly.

– It’s a game not to play too. My motivation was to make people happy with my food, and to be kind and straightforward.

He has received comments that he plays sneakily in Farmen kendis. He understands that people can think this, but at the same time points out that this is not the case.

– It feels absolutely terrible, but I understand that people can say such things when they don’t know me, says Moi.

He acknowledges that on occasion he has done and said things incorrectly, which he regrets. He says that he tried to be himself inside the farm.

– I fully understand the negative comments, because people only get one picture of something. Some may think that I have lied, but that is not the case. Lyving is completely out of the question, he says.

Kept my nerves in check

Moi points out that he is not offended or angry by the accusations from Sæter, as he can understand where it is coming from. He has another explanation for the achievement.

– The truth is that I was able to breathe with my stomach and keep my nerves in check.

Despite the fact that it was the first time he held the dueling ax when it mattered, he was not surprised by the performance. There is a very special reason for that.

– I had a dream that night and I felt that my son was watching. I was so sure I was going to hit, says Moi.
