This hilarious mix is just the latest in a series of creative mods for the popular action-adventure game, allowing players to step into the shoes of everyone from Homer Simpson to soccer player Kylian Mbappe in God of War.
God of War revolutionized the gaming landscape when it launched for PlayStation 4 in 2018. Featuring an older and wiser (but still gruff and beefy) Kratos fighting across the Nine Realms of Norse mythology with his son Atreus at his side, the game was widely praised for bringing a more mature and emotionally resonant story to the aging franchise.
The immense success of God of War led to a PC port of the game being released in 2022, with the PlayStation-exclusive sequel God of War Ragnarok following several months later. Even more successful than its predecessor, God of War: Ragnarok broke sales records on PlayStation when it launched in late 2022.
In a fun new video shared on the r/GodofWar subreddit, user Winter-Flow has shown off a mod for the PC version of God of War that replaces Kratos with the legendary Doom Slayer of Doom. Seemingly eager for a change of scenery after years of battling the hordes of Hell, the video shows the Doom Slayer enthusiastically taking on one of God of War’s Valkyries in brutal combat.
Clad in his iconic armor and carrying the towering Demonic Crucible on his back, the Doom Slayer quickly dispatches the Valkyrie and makes taking down one of the game’s toughest enemies seem like a walk in the park.
