A few weeks ago, Joko and Klaas lost against their home broadcaster on “Joko and Klaas against Pro Sieben”. Moderator Steven Gätjen then brought the bad news to Joko Winterscheidt (44) and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (39): “On May 6th it will be Coronation of Charles. A six-hour live broadcast on Sat.1. You have to comment for an hour!”

On Saturday morning the time had come. As Charles and Camilla left the palace for Westminster Abbeymoderator Marlene Lufen (52) announced Joko and Klaas – the stupid duo was allowed to take over the scepter from the experts.

In uniforms with a British touch, Joko and Klaas took a seat in the studio and greeted their viewers: “Dear traditionalists, dear royalists, dear friends of the Commonwealth, today we celebrate! We’ll see who’s allowed to go, who has to go, who’s in a good mood… You’ll have the feeling that there’s someone sitting next to you on the couch who never shuts up.”

Charles’ big moment THIS is the crowning glory!

For the next 60 minutes, the two cult moderators held the scepter in their hands during the transmission. Instead of shining with professional competence, they afforded one cheeky saying after the other. Charles’ gold carriage astonished Joko, who would rather have driven up in a Lamborghini: “They’ll take him in a carriage? It’s 2023!”

But who was the punishment for?

For Joko and Klaas? Rather for Marlene Lufen and the nobility experts Heinrich Graf von Hannover, Charlotte Gräfin von Oeynhausen, master of ceremonies Major William Hunt and pop star Ross Antony (48)!

Sat.1 kept switching back to them. However, apart from Ross Antony, none of them could laugh at the slapstick commentators next door. Lufen wanted to know from Heinrich Graf von Hannover: “How satisfied are you with the reporting?”

But Joko and Klaas were not finished yet, repeatedly interrupting their serious colleagues. The panel of experts was visibly annoyed – and Joko was now asking the insiders questions: “What’s the name of the horse?” Loud and clear it was now possible to hear from the group: “Can someone turn off the microphone?”

But Joko and Klaas still had a few minutes of airtime – and made full use of them. Joko told an anecdote about a shooting festival, Klaas proudly opened: “I used to be Kohl-König!”

While Joko was feverishly considering whether racing driver Lewis Hamilton (38) was preparing donuts in the background, live commentator Karen Heinrichs and VIP reporter Benjamin Bieneck were then switched on, but they hardly got a word in. Joko and Klaas kept chatting in between. Klaas nölte: “May I ask something? Hello?” Joko jumped to his buddy and apparently thought he was in a classroom: “Klaas has a question!”

King Charles had finally arrived at Westminster Abbey – and Joko worried about admission: “He doesn’t have an ID!” Klaas immediately picked up the joke and called out: “The priest says: ‘I know him! Let him in!’.”

Then it was “finally” over. Klaas goodbye about King Charles: “He looks cool, you have to say. Can he see his wife first? Oh, he’s not getting married at all!”

And Joko was sure: “They’ll ask us, if someone should be crowned again, if we’ll do it again.”

This punitive action probably backfired on ProSieben and Sat.1…
