A little earlier this week we wrote a news about how the Steam Deck was used by Ukrainian soldiers to control the machine gun turret. This time, a Finnish newspaper has used Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to spread information and news about the war to the Russian people. The gaming world has been less restricted than other sectors of society and not quite as affected by censorship laws. The newspaper Helsingin Sanomat created the level “de_voyna” for the game. On this map you can find a now not so secret room. There, information about the war is given in both Russian and English. You can find the map here. Whether the creators of the map succeed in their mission is difficult to say, however, it is not entirely clear how Valve takes a position on this yet.

Because of the media attention, it probably won’t be long before Russia also tightens this way for information about the conflict to get into the country.
