Just as the Olympic torch flame represents the Games, the Peace Torch flame represents the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run. The world’s largest Peace Relay and an international team of runners passed through El Paso and Juárez.

The Peace Run is a global relay race in which runners carry a torch: the Torch of Peace, which is passed from hand to hand, person to person, as it travels from nation to nation. The goal is to create a feeling of goodwill among people of all nations.

The Peace Run organization presented Judge Samaniego with the Torchbearer award in honor of his many years of hard work promoting El Paso and the border, and helping local citizens and immigrants alike.
