The Secretary of Health of Guerrero reported that in the last 24 hours, 69 new cases of covid-19 were registered in the state and the death of one person from this disease.
Statistics indicate that as of December 31, 387 active cases of covid-19 are registered, of which 69 are new and there was one death.
When presenting the daily technical report on the state of the pandemic in Guerrerothe dependency indicates that as of December 31, the entity accumulates 117 thousand 397 confirmed cases and 6 thousand 862 deaths, for which reason it reiterates the call to the population to maintain preventive measures and thus avoid the increase in infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The Secretary of Health of Guerrero details that the state registers active cases in 22 municipalities, the main ones being the following: Acapulco, 118; Chilpancingo, 85; Taxco, 82; Equals, 42; Zihuatanejo, 29; Ometepec, 7; Zumpango, 5; Ayutla, 2; Cocula, 2; and Tecoanapa, 2.
In this December holiday season, thousands of visitors from different parts of the country and foreigners from the USA and Canada arrived, for which an increase in infections is expected in the coming days.
Among the preventive measures, it continues to recommend the correct use of face masks in closed and open spaces, a healthy distance of 1.5 meters, constant hand washing with soap and water and/or disinfection with 70% alcohol gel, in addition to avoiding crowds.
