The Cuban American Genesis Diaz will sing the United States Anthem at Miami’s Bayfront Park in celebration of July 4, 2023.
This will be the second time in a row that the Cuban-American is chosen for the show that will take place in the park where thousands of citizens of Miami-Dade County gather every year, according to a press release sent to the editorial staff of CyberCuba.
“For me as a singer, it is a great achievement in my career to be able to sing on a stage as big as Bayfront Park just at the moment the fireworks are launched. In addition, in this emblematic place they have sung on special occasions such as the farewell of the year colleagues for whom I feel admiration such as: Willy Chirino, Zone People, Yotuel among many others,” said Genesis.
Génesis Díaz, the talented young daughter of musicians, shared her happiness for this new opportunity to interpret the American anthem in the celebration of independence.
“I feel very proud to have the honor of interpreting the United States Anthem on the day of its independence. I already experienced a moment similar to this last year where I also had this great opportunity, ”she assured.
The show, at the initiative of Commissioner Joe Carollo, will start at 4:00 pm. and will have among its main attractions a cultural show with the young, 25-year-old and other stars such as actress Gabriela Vergara.
At Bayfront Park, the interpreter has sung at the opening of Miami Marlins baseball games and now, with the new entrustment, she rehearses every day for the big moment.
“The lyrics of the Anthem are something that I have known since I was little since I was born in the United States. Despite that, I like to practice almost daily to avoid making any mistakes. I will not deny that it makes me very nervous to think about the time when I have thousands of people listening to music with such a special meaning on a date as special as the 4th of July,” he said.
The young woman, who is currently filming new music videos, has participated in the talent contest The US Voice, where it turned out finalist in its first edition.
Previously, at just 18 years old, he led the judges to turn heads at the blind auditions of the season 14 of The Voice with his moving interpretation of Prayingby pop singer Kesha.
Genesis was born in Miami but her parents are Cuban. Young Ella joined her high school choir and several times sang at restaurants and charity events.
