Princes Harry and Andrew deprived of official role at coronation

Harry, younger son of Charles III at odds with the royal family, and Andrew, brother of the king already deprived of public engagement, will have no official role during the coronation, the palace confirmed on Saturday.

If they had taken part in the funeral procession behind the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II in Westminster Abbey after her death last September, this time Harry and Andrew will not walk behind the royal couple in the procession which will take them back to the Buckingham Palace after the ceremony.

It is also unlikely that they will appear on the balcony for the traditional salute of members of the royal family, even if the palace has not revealed who will surround Charles and Camilla for the occasion.

Absent from coronation, Joe Biden says he will see Charles III in July

Joe Biden, who will not attend the coronation of Charles III on Saturday, represented by his wife Jill, indicated on Friday that he would see the monarch in July to speak in particular about the environment.

“We are going to a NATO conference in Europe and told him that I will stop either on the way there or on the way back to talk about the subject that interests him the most, the environment,” said the US President in an interview with MSNBC.

The annual NATO summit is scheduled for Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 11 and 12.
