A cyclist fell under the trailer of a truck in Potsdam on Monday afternoon and was seriously injured. As the police announced on Tuesday, the 21-year-old fell when she wanted to overtake a cyclist. The woman was walking on Breite Strasse in the direction of Zeppelinstrasse. The accident happened at the intersection with Schopenhauerstrasse.

The 21-year-old fell on the left lane of Breite Straße. There she was hit by a truck driving alongside the two cyclists. She got both feet under the trailer. After rescue workers treated her at the scene, she was taken to a hospital. The injured cyclist is not in mortal danger, according to the police. After the accident, the street was partially closed. The police recorded a traffic accident report and secured evidence of the accident.

It was only on Saturday that a cyclist was slightly injured in an accident at the Breite Straße/Zeppelinstraße intersection. A motorist saw the cyclist turning and hit him. According to the police, the person who caused the accident must answer on suspicion of negligent bodily harm.

Bicycle accidents occur regularly in Potsdam – sometimes with serious consequences. According to the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC), ten cyclists have died in traffic accidents in Potsdam since 2013.
