In 2022, a journalist was at the top of the commentators for the ARD “Tagesthemen”, but still more men than women commented. According to an evaluation by medieninsider de, Kirsten Girschick (BR) made ten appearances, followed by Holger Ohmstedt (NDR) with nine and Sabrina Fritz (SWR) with seven. Matthias Deiß from RBB recorded six comments (fourth place).

Kristin Schwietzer, who has been at the top for the past two years, commented six times in 2022 and made fourth place with eight other colleagues.
109 journalists from the nine ARD stations made a total of 252 comments, in 2021 there were 105 who appeared 262 times. The proportion of female journalists was 43.3 percent, quite a minus compared to the 46.2 percent in 2021. 60 journalists spoke 143, 48 women 109 comments. There were no comments from female journalists on Saarländisches Rundfunk and Radio Bremen.
56 comments came from NDR journalists, which put them at the top of the station ranking. It was followed by WDR with 53 comments, the broadcaster was ahead in 2021 and 2020. The “Pro & Contra” format was used five times in 2022 and nine times in 2021. For the topics in 2022, there were alternative opinions on topics such as compulsory corona vaccination, the reduction in fuel prices or the extension of the service life of nuclear power plants.
