Damar Hamlin played his first official game with the Buffalo Bills after suffering a heart attack for which he was revived

The Bufallo Bills defensive back in the NFL, Damar Hamlin, played his first official match this Saturday during the team’s preseason, thus marking his official return after having suffered a cardiac arrest in January for which he had to be revived.

Hamlin was part of the team that beat the Indianapolis Colts 23-19 during the first week of NFL preseason.

In this Saturday’s game against the Colts, Damar Hamlin was very active. He made special teams on Indianapolis’ kick returns and played secondary defense in the first half in which he led the Bills in tackles with three.

Buffalo’s defense was dominant from the Colts’ first series, all led by Hamlin himself. Along with the Bills star also collaborated Dane Jackson, who intercepted Anthony Richardson.

Hamlin managed to return to action after overcoming his heart attack during week 17 of action in the previous NFL season.

In the match against Bengals and after ramming a rival, the player fainted on the pitch and required medical assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Although he was stabilized and transferred by ambulance, he was not released until January 11 to continue his rehabilitation at home.

It was by April that he received permission to return to work with his team and it was recently, at the end of July, that he joined the Bills’ training camps.

This way Hamlin will prepare for his debut in the 2023-2024 NFL season against the New York Jets on September 11.
