Dead Space is the good surprise of this beginning of the year 2023, for fans of horror games. Already acclaimed during its initial release in 2008 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game is getting a second life thanks to a masterful remake, in line with current standards. Did you enjoy the sordid adventures of Isaac Clarke in the heart of his ship, the USG Ishimura (a second time) and you wish you could continue them with the sequels Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3? Well, imagine that the Motive Studios teams, working on the remake of the first episode, would be up for it too!
In a recent interview given to the British version of GQ magazine, Phil Ducharme, producer, and Roman Campos-Oriola, creative director, indicated that they wanted to discuss with Electronic Arts the future of the franchise:
QG: It’s funny that you talk about [la] disappearance [de Dead Space] from the menu. EA itself pretty much let the series sit idle for 10 years. Do you have any ideas on what you could do next?
Phil Ducharme: Of course, it’s a hope that we have. There’s an interest on my side and I think on Roman’s side – you can see his smile – to explore Dead Space more. There are ideas, that’s for sure. We’re wrapping up this week, we’re going to make sure the launch goes smoothly and there are as few technical issues as possible. We’re going to go on vacation, and then we’ll sit down and have these discussions within EA to say, “Okay, what do we do next? »
Motive Studios was created in 2015 and allowed games such as Star Wars Battlefront 2 or Star Wars: Squadrons to see the light of day. The technical success of their port on Dead Space would certainly be good news for players, if sequels were to be released.
