A fan ofElden Ring and GeoGuessr mixed the two games together to test fans’ knowledge of FromSoftware’s RPG.
Since February 2022, Elden Ring fascinates millions of players. This action RPG developed by FromSoftware allows us to visit a 100% new universe, called the Entre-Terre. As a reminder, GeoGuessr is based on a fairly simple principle: the goal is to guess, as accurately as possible, a place in the world, thanks to images (3D view and movement allowed). He explains : ” A friend and I are on a mission to create a GeoGuessr-like experience for your favorite games. Elden Ring was right at the top of the list, and I’m happy to report, after a lot of trial and error, that we were able to capture 8,000 locations in the world of Elden Ring. »
To create this GeoGuessr, the duo had fun collecting hundreds of thousands of raw images, then assembled to create 3D panoramas. They also designed a map in satellite view, to obtain more precise locations. We are far from the 110,000 places of World of Warcraft (which is much more substantial), but the result is still worth the detour. He also recalls thatElden Ring is a huge video game, nourished by varied settings and many traps when it comes to finding your way around.
