Roger Louret, director of several solo performances for Pierre Palmade, Muriel Robin or Guy Bedos, died at the age of 72 on Wednesday January 25 following an illness, his brother Guy Louret announced to L’AFP.

He died at the end of the afternoon in the hospital of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, in Lot-et-Garonne, department in which he was born on May 20, 1950. Roger Louret is a classical dancer and a trained musician . He created in 1973 in his village of Monclar, the Théâtre de Poche which contained 60 seats, which later became The Baladins in Agenais, a troupe in which many artists have played. He also produced numerous creations with his brother featuring Annie Girardot and introducing the public to actors such as Muriel Robin and Élie Semoun.

Many Molières nominations

Roger Louret was named nine times at the Molières ceremony, and was awarded in 1995 for the show The Twist Years at the Folies Bergère with the Molière du spectacle musicaI. Other shows have also been named as The Z’Zazous years, The Java of memories and 80s Fever, without however winning in their category. Unfortunately, the Baladins troupe was dissolved in 2001 due to financial difficulties during its last years. “Les Baladins were born in Monclar (…) before leaving for Paris and returning here to bow out”, had commented at the time Roger Louret.
