The British actor died Thursday in a Florida hospital following a rapid illness, the nature of which has not been specified.

British actor Ronan Vibert, known in particular for his role in the series The Borgias, died Thursday. According to his manager Sharon Vitro, who confided in the HollywoodReporter, he succumbed to a brief illness in a Florida hospital. He was 58 years old.

Born in 1964 in the English county of Cambridgeshire, Ronan Vibert started his acting career at the end of the 1980s, and oscillated all his life between European and American productions.

He got many secondary roles in big productions. Ronan Vibert notably gave the reply to John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe in The Shadow of the Vampire from E. Elias Merhige, to Adrien Brody in The pianist by Roman Polanski, or to Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft, Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.

In the early 2010s, he landed a recurring role in The Borgiasseries on the family of Italian nobles who exercised their influence during the Renaissance.

In 2014, we saw him in the movie In Mary’s shadow, by John Lee Hancock, alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson. The feature film tells the epic of Walt Disney to obtain the right to adapt the series of children’s books to the cinema mary poppins.

He played Diarmuid Russell, the agent of author Pamela Lyndon Travers. In recent years, he has appeared in the series Penny Dreadful and carnival row.
