The eleventh free mystery game on the Epic Games Store for the holidays from December 25 to 26, is Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. At the start of this season’s promotion, many fans might have been concerned as many of the games fell into the smaller game spectrum, but it has intensified in recent days.

The Epic Games Store, in the past few days, has seen the release of three Fallout starter games and Metro: Last Light Redux. They’re all great games, but given the position of Death Stranding as a former PlayStation exclusive (and still a console exclusive).

Plus, with the popularity of Kojima Productions, the Director’s Cut bonus content, and the general hype surrounding the recent Death Stranding 2 announcement, it stands to reason that this is the biggest game of the season so far.

Death Stranding is an action game, which tried to forge a new sub-genre called Forge about forming connections, and in which players travel through a cataclysmic USA as Sam Bridges, a porter. There are asynchronous multiplayer elements, and the game is often described as a walking simulator, given Bridges’ profession.

Death Stranding’s Director’s Cut includes additional content such as new graphics options, new combat abilities, new items, a shooting range, the Roadster, new structures, new missions, and much, much more.
