The 26-year-old center forward impressively demonstrates why Fortuna Düsseldorf once put almost seven million euros on the table for him. The fact that the Pole, who is in top form at the end of the season, is available on a free transfer has drawn several Bundesliga clubs into action in recent weeks.
In the meantime, it is clear which club in the German upper house Kownacki will lace up for in the summer. As the ‘Rheinische Post’ reports, the right-footed player has opted for the offer from SV Werder Bremen. Kownacki already owns a property in the Bremen area that he could move into with his family. From the summer, the way to his new employer would be short.

In Bremen, Kownacki could compensate for one of the forthcoming prominent departures in the offensive department. Both Marvin Ducksch (29) and Niclas Füllkrug (30) are on other clubs’ wish lists.
Ducksch can leave Werder with an exit clause for 7.5 million euros. Union Berlin has put out feelers. Other clubs are also showing interest in national player Füllkrug. The Kownacki obligation could therefore be an indication that Werder’s dream storm is falling apart in the summer.
