In the new TV 2 series I fyr og flamme, three celebrity teams will compete in various challenges. In addition, there is a panel of judges with various celebrities who will guess whether the teams have completed the challenges or not.

Throughout the episode, viewers and the judging panel get to see clips from the challenges, without knowing the final result. There is always at least one team that has managed the challenge, and it is up to the judging panel to decide who is lying.

In Thursday’s episode, best friends Sotberg and Hofset will spend a whole day in a jacuzzi.

See when the boys first discover the pain in the video at the top of the case.

THE PARTICIPANTS: Simon Nitsche is the presenter of the new series. Victor Sotberg (30) and Robin Hofset (30) are a team, Alexandra Joner (32) and Iselin Guttormsen (36) are a team, and Thomas Gullestad (42) and Ailo Gaup (43) are the last team. Photo: Espen Solli

Had pain for a week

The duo had prepared well, bringing everything from a pee bottle to a badminton set. It didn’t take longer than four hours before the boys started to get bored.

– We are not afraid to “push” each other, and see where the limit is, says Hofset to TV 2.

Eventually, the boys begin to experience severe pain in their hands and feet.

– I didn’t think it would hurt so much. The pain didn’t go away until a week later, reveals Sotberg.

After 19 hours, the duo couldn’t handle the pain any longer, and had to leave the jacuzzi.

– Along the way, we googled whether it was safe to carry out, but we thought that the production had investigated this, says Sotberg.

Press manager at TV 2, Jan-Petter Dahl, says that a risk analysis of the production is carried out in advance and during the course of all the challenges.

– During this recording, a nurse was present and had a close dialogue with the participants. Victor and Robin were also offered a health check by a doctor after the recording, and they have been followed up afterwards, Dahl tells TV 2.

PAIN: Sotberg says the pain was bearable.

Not to recommend

Dermatologist Reza Sohrabi tells TV 2 that he has never come across anything like this. On the other hand, he has a theory about what happened and why they were in so much pain.

– The skin has a lipophilic surface (oil) which makes it “waterproof”. When the skin is in contact with water for a long time, this oil will disappear and cause water to penetrate the top layer of the skin and thus cause wrinkles, says Sohrabi.

In addition, he believes that there has been a contraction of blood vessels, as the body tries to cool down the fingers.

– My theory is that this could be caused by narrowing of the very small blood vessels at the ends of the fingers, and that this in turn caused the pain.

Sohrabi would not recommend anyone to do this, and does not know what could happen if they did the challenge.

Noticed disturbing detail: – Damn freaky
