Big rush because of the Germany ticket: There are long queues on Tuesday in front of the DVG customer center at Duisburg main station.
The rush for the Germany ticket is great. Since May 1st, passengers have been able to use local and regional transport throughout Germany for EUR 49 per month. The sale had already started on April 3rd. But apparently many have only now decided to buy the ticket. In any case, on Tuesday, May 2, there are long queues in front of the DVG customer center at the main station. On Tuesday afternoon, interested people queued up into the (station) tunnel.
“That’s crazy!” says a passer-by when he sees the snake. An elderly woman who has just reached the customer center door says she has been waiting for an hour. Others, it is said, had to be even more patient.

A few days ago, the DVG announced that more than 3,000 of its customers had already bought the 49-euro ticket. However, the transport company assumes that demand will continue to rise.
There were long queues for Germany tickets not only in Duisburg, but also in Essen in front of the Ruhrbahn customer centers. The Germany-wide failure of a server at Deutsche Bahn on May 1 should also have caused so many to have to stand in line.
The DVG continues to recommend that passengers buy the 49-euro ticket via the myDVG Bus&Bahn app. Alternatively, there is an online order form www.dvg-duisburg.de/deutschlandticket. You can also send an email with the order to [email protected].
According to the DVG, it has also automatically switched over 16,300 of the existing subscriptions. All corresponding new chip cards were sent out by Wednesday, April 26, but the old chip cards are still valid until May 10. Anyone who has not yet received a new ticket on May 11th can pick it up at the customer center.
