Diosdado Cabello urges Chavismo to take over polling stations from dawn

MIAMI- At the closing of the Venezuelan regime’s campaign, characterized by low attendance, God given hairone of the main leaders of the ruling party, urged Chavez supporters to show up at the polling stations starting at 2:00 am this coming Sunday, July 28.

“President, this people is ready to fight, and at 2 in the morning, this people will be in the polling stations with the rooster crowing, doing what we had been preparing for well in advance. We studied and did our homework, now what remains is to finish and be victorious on July 28,” Cabello stressed.

This statement once again highlights one of the regime’s strategies to intimidate voters and exert undue control over the electoral process.

The official opening of polling stations in Venezuela is set for 6:00 am, as stipulated by the National Electoral Council (CNE). However, Cabello, known for his strong rhetoric within Chavismo, insisted on the need for pro-government activists to be present at the polling stations from the early hours of the morning.

The international community is closely watching the development of these elections in Venezuela, a country mired in a deep political, economic and social crisis.

Guarantees of transparency and fairness in the electoral process are essential to move towards a peaceful and democratic solution to the crisis facing the Caribbean country. Various international organizations have already deployed observers to monitor the elections and ensure that democratic standards are met. However, there are various complaints that the regime is preventing them from entering Venezuela.
