1:30 p.m : After his arrest, Evan Gershkovich was placed in pre-trial detention on March 30 and was to remain there at least until May 29. The journalist, who rejects the charges of “espionage” brought against him, had appealed against this measure. The court therefore dismissed this request.

This trip “is a ‘special tour’ of the perpetrator of mass murder in the occupied and ravaged territories to take pleasure in the crimes” committed by Russian forces, said an adviser to the Ukrainian presidency.

The United States accused Brazil of being “the echo of Russian and Chinese propaganda” on the conflict.
