Disney is considering a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada

MIAMI.- A sequel to the successful film The Devil Wears Prada could be brewing. According to information released by the Puck News portal, writer Aline Brosh McKenna is working on the script that will bring back editor Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep.

Wendy Finerman will produce the sequel, as she did with the first installment.

Meanwhile, Deadline noted that David Frankel, who directed the 2006 film, is in talks to direct the sequel.

So far, it has not been revealed that casting is being organised.

For now, Disney, which is the studio that will be in charge of the film since it acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, has not commented on the matter.

The film is based on the book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, which tells the story of Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), a young journalist who gets a job as the second assistant to famed fashion editor Miranda Priestly.

During his adaptation, Andy receives help from his partner Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) and the artistic director Nigel (Stanley Tucci).

The film was released in 2006 and grossed $326 million at the worldwide box office.
